To Lip Monthly? Beauty review.

Who subscribes to Lip Monthly?!
... I DO! ...

It's been a couple of months, so I wanted to commiserate on the pros & cons of Lip Monthly, and the latest May '17 bag.

The May '17 Lip Monthly bag contains:
1. "Sublime" Ultra-Luxe Longwear Lip Pencil by Starlooks cosmetics
***Below are the products I review in this video***

2. City Color cosmetics Dual Lip Wand in Blush
3. Bang Beauty lip gloss in Rosie
4. Luna by Luna cosmetics Eyeshadow Crayon in Gemini

I was pleasantly surprised to find the eyeshadow crayon in this latest LM bag, even though this is a LIP bag, lol. The shimmery golden shade is pretty, but unfortunately, the ($18 retail priced) crayon creased off every time I wore it (tried around my eyes and as a highlighter) - zero staying power. I cannot use it.

What also disturbs me about the products in this bag are that the products generally do not seem high quality, as LM advertises. Of the products in this May bag, the City Color duo lip wand 'Blush' product could not be found on their website, at the time of this post - strange (methinks it is discontinued, still)... I searched for a legit website for Bang, but not to be found. Ok ... so are they sending us reject, defunct products for the low, low price of $12/month??

I am interested to hear what my fellow LM subscribers think about these products, and LM in general. I hope LM improves their products (without raising the price), and this helps shed some light on whether or not you want to subscribe.
Regardless of my thoughts, I hope you all are enjoying your May bag, and received it in a timely manner!

Marchesa NYFW FW16 Pt. II: The Show

We never thought we would get in - but we did! People herded their way in, so who would Wendy and I be to go against the herd (when that means you get to see a Marchesa show)? Ha. Anna Wintour was far across the room, but I could still see her - arms crossed, blond bob, sunglasses worn indoors - yep, that was her. And one seat over from Ms. Wintour - the gorgeous redhead (you may recall I am a fan of flamed haired women) model/singer/formerly-wife-of-Jack-White, Karen Elson. And, Zac Posen! ... Ok, ok. Star-gazing aside, you came to read about Marchesa for goodness sake!

The sparkling accessories and embroidered shoes alone have me crushing, and we had not seen all of the gowns, yet!

Minutes before showtime, a seamstress tirelessly works on finishing touches on one of the gowns - so stunning, I thought I was going to hyperventilate with glee.

This baby blue gown was like a full-length babydoll, so floaty and stunning - one of my faves.

Marchesa designers, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, can be seen in the first image of the slideshow, above. And, oh - how the crew had crates of Fiji water on standby for everyone backstage, with those clever drilled-in straws. My show footage, below, may be rough, but you get the idea. #frowgoals

The most beautiful gowns I have ever seen stomped by, all ruffles, beads and crystals. The wedge heels embroidered with a floral design were fantastic. Honestly, my best view of it all was backstage, as we only made it in by a hair - stood on the topmost bench, mid-room. Alas, better to have seen Marchesa FW16 live than to never have been at all.

You're swooning, regardless of how fuzzy the fashion show images may be - yes, maybe? Anyway. Thanks for reading! Until next NYFW. XO Lauren
